About Us
Whispering Spirit Cultural Tours was founded by Denice Evans-Sheppard. In addition to being the CEO of WSC Tours, Denice is also the Executive Director of the Oyster Bay Historical Society.
With a passion for history and culture, Denice designs these tours to highlight and explore African American people & communities that have historically contributed to Long Island but have been left out of the narrative or have been erased. She is currently enrolled in the Doctoral in Education for Diverse Learning Ed.D program at Molloy University In Rockville Center.
Denice has authored two books, A Constant Struggle Within, & Footsteps of a Forgotten Soldier. She takes pride in honoring her ancestors which has recently garnered her a NY Emmy in 2022 as a contributor for the David Carll story.
